No one under the age of 10 will admitted to the YMCA without an Adult Supervisorand should be escorted to/from formalized Y programs.
Child Care - Day Camp - Preschool
Child Watch ServiceFree babysitting service is available for children infant - 6 years old, (birth-kindergarten), while parents are using the YMCA facility or taking a YMCA class. Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00-11:00 AM Tuesday & Thursday, 4:30-7:00 PM All families using babsitting service must register children for use of this service. YMCA Members Free babysitting 2 hours per day. Non members $2.00 first child / $1.00 each additional child - 2 hours per day. Kiddie KampA Summer Day Camp Program for the younger set held at the Lockport Family YMCA and Starpoint Fricano Primary School. Click on Day Camp for more information and a complete schedule.
"Little Me" Play GroupPlay Group for 2-3 year old children. They meet weekly on Friday from 9:30-11:30 AM each YMCA session except Summer. Each session of "Little Me" play group is led by trained YMCA Staff. Children benefit from playtime with others and an introduction to structured activities. During time together children will also learn songs, finger plays, enjoy stories and experience art activities. Daily trips to the gym will allow the children large muscle activities like bike riding, running, ball throwing and group games. Cost $35 Members /$105 Non Member
"Preschool Pals" Fun Club(Ages 3-5 years old) A well rounded preschool program that uses music, games, physical activity, stories, field trips, guest speakers and swimming to provide opportunities to:
It is our belief that preschool should be stress free, stimulating and a socializing experience. Preschool Pals provides interesting and meaningful experiences for all. Activities are age appropriate and meet the development needs of the children. Preschools Pals is a program where the children learn by playing and doing. Children may be registered to attend two or all four classes based on their need and space in class. Space in each class is limited.
Member Only Program which runs Monday - Thursday from 9:30 AM - Noon Session runs from September 12, 2011 to June 14, 2012.
Monday-Thursday 4 Classes Per Week Y Members Only $95 a month paid at registration and the first week of each month.
Monday & Wednesday Class Offers Swimming Tuesday & Thursday Class Offers Gym Y Members Only $60 a month paid at registration and the first week of each month.

Grade School Basketball League(Ages 7 -10 years) Winter Session Begins JANUARY 14 Participants will be divided into two divisions for grades 2 & 3 and grades 4 & 5. This is the YMCA Winners League, which is a value-based, competitive program for children in grades 2-5. Players must register in advance and attend a mandatory skill evaluation. Games are played on Thursday or Friday nights and /or Saturday mornings. Practices will occur during the half-hour before their scheduled game time. Their coach will determine any additional practice time. Each team will have one scheduled practice prior to the start of their season.
Middle School Basketball League(Ages 11-14 years) Winter Session Begins JANUARY 14 Set similar to the Grade School Basketball League. Participants must pre-register for the league and attend the skill evaluation. Practices will occur during the half-hour before their scheduled game time. Their coach will determine any additional practice time. Games will be played on Friday evenings and/or Saturday mornings.
Youth Fitness Class(Ages 11-18 years) Designed to get youth of varying fitness levels and abilities to be active and enjoy exercise. Participants will learn the fundamentals of fitness and athletic movement through fun excerises and activities. Componets of Fitness Targeted:

Little Champs(Ages 3-5 years) An introduction to sports including floor hockey, flag football, soccer, T-ball, and basketball. Your child will learn about working with others through sports, group game play, and different gym games.
NFL Punt, Pass, Kick(Ages 11-14 years) Event will be held September 10, 2011 @ Day Rd. Park (soccer fields) Lockport NY. Registration begins at 9AM and competition begins at 10AM. This is a nationwide football skill competition, developed by the National Football League. Participants may compete with the opportunity to advance. Call for details.
Elks Hoop Shoot(Ages 8 - 13 years) December 10, 2011 Lockport Family YMCA Gym Age Brackets: 8-9, 10-11, 12-13 The Elks National "Hoop Shoot" Free Throw Program is America's largest non-commerical sports program. It offers any kid ages 8-13 an opportunity for character and skill development, healthy spirited athletic competition, social relationships, and quality family time. Flag Football(Ages 6 - 9 years) A values-based program for 6 - 9 year olds designed to teach the skills and rules of the game in ways that make their participation fun and exciting. The YMCA is providing a non-competitive league to enhance each player's ability to play, in the tradition-rich, school football program.
Start Smart Football(Ages 5 - 7 years) A parent-child participation program. It prepares children for organized football in a FUN, non-threatening environment and allows children the opportunity to work one-on-one with a parent. This program teaches children a variety of football skills including: throwing, catching, kicking/punting, and runing/agility. Please note that parent participation is a must in this program.
Shooting Stars Basketball(Ages 6 - 9 years) YMCA Winners basketball program that teaches the basics through the new and exciting games approach. Emphasis is on skill development, character development and fun.
Start Smart Golf(Ages 5 - 7 years) A parent-child participation program designed for young children who have never played golf. Utilizes the SNAG Coaching System, a unique patented system that moves parent-child groups through four stations during one-hour sessions, once a week for 6 weeks. Uses positive reinforcement and FUN activities while teaching the participants the motor skills necessary to play golf. Please note that parent participation is a must in this program.
Swim or Gym Parties(All ages) Make your next gathering a gym or swim party at the Lockport Family YMCA. We provide the refreshment room for one hour, one hour in our pool or gym, and lifeguard. You provide refreshments, chaperones, and up to 20 swimmers. Parties Friday or Saturday by reservation only.
