Membership Length

All memberships are based on an annual and continuous basis (with the exception of short term membership).  All electronic transfer memberships are continuous until the YMCA receives written notification.

Family Membership

A family is defined as a husband and wife and all dependent children through the age of 21.  At the time of registration all the family members must be shown on the registration form, with complete infromation.

The Single Parent Family membership is for those persons who have become separated from their spouse because of death, divorce or legal seperation, and for those who are unwed parents with child custody.  The reduced rate should assist you in making the YMCA a part of your family life.

Membership Payment Policy

1. Full Annual Dues Payment by Cash, Check, MasterCard, Visa, American Express or Discover Card (returned check fee $20). A Re-Entry fee will be charged to those who have let their membership lapse for more than 45 days.

2. Electronic Transfer - a system of automatic monthly payments contracted for a minimum of 12 months. Must make initial payment from the checking account or credit card to be regularly transferred from, on either the 1st or 15th of each subsequent month. Membership is continuous for a minimum period of one year, therefore to cancel, the member must sign a cancellation notice in person providing 30 days notice, one more transfer will be taken and a temporary card will be issued for the duration of the paid up agreement. You may include locker rental at time transfer is started.

•Note: early withdrawal from a Electronic Transfer contract or allowing a membership to lapse will require you to enter as a new member and repay the "joiner fees."

•Electronic Transfers are authorized electronic checking account, saving account or credit card payments - you must carry sufficient balance in your account each month to cover transfers.

3. Health Insurance Providers:  check out your plan today!  Often they will pay a portion if not all of the program or membership fees.  The Lockport Family YMCA is proud to work with Independent Health, Univera, and Community Blue.

Joiner Fee: The YMCA New Member "Joiner Fee" or "Program Enhancement Fee" is required of all new members and are capital improvement assessments which will be returned to the membership in the form of facility improvements or equipment purchases. They are one-time payments so long as membership remains continuous and unbroken. Youth $25, Young Adult $35, Adult, Single Parent Family and Family Plans $75.

Locker Rental Available (Full Year/Electronic Transfer): Locker rental is available to both men and women on a limited basis in the general locker rooms. This rental fee must be paid up front at the time of registration or as part of Electronic Transfer when initiated. Rental is based on the size of the locker: Small (kit) $24/yr. or $2/mo.; Half locker $36/yr. or $3/mo.; Full $48/yr. or $4/mo. A limited number of lockers are available in men's semi-private area: cost is $96/yr. or $8/mo. (includes free towel service).

Towel Service: Courtesy towels are available at the main desk; Service charge of 50 cents per towel.  Persons renting semi-private lockers receive free towel service.

Guest Policy

  • All guests must be accompained by a YMCA member.
  • All visitors and spectators to the YMCA must report to the main desk, sign a waiver of liability, and adhere to the YMCA guidelines for conduct and behavior, as well as all facilities rules.
  • No one under the age of ten will be admitted to the YMCA without an adult supervisor and should be escorted to/from formalized Y programs.
  • A YMCA Member must accompany all visitors that wish to use the YMCA facility, and both will be required to sign-in. All YMCA Members are responsible for their guest.
  • Visitors that are guest of YMCA members may use the facility three times at no cost. After three, the guest must either join or purchase a guest pass.
  • A Guest Pass allows up to three hours of facility use with a Member of the YMCA,  including swimming from the time of purchase. Guest fees are: Youth (15 & under) $4; Young Adult (16-18) $6; Adult (18 & over) $10; Family Max $32.
  • Open Swim fees and policies are the same as guest fees and policies.
  • YMCA members under the age of 16 are entitled to one guest per day.
  • The YMCA reserves the right to refuse visitors and spectators based on space restrictions, past behavior issues and failure to compile to YMCA policies. (See Code of Conduct)

Membership Refund/Credit Policy

YMCA memberships are not refundable nor are they transferable to another person. YMCA members who are transferred out of the area should make every effort to establish a membership in their new area YMCA. We will work with the YMCA to provide continued membership with them through the duration of your paid up membership period, upon notification from that association. Persons on the Electronic Transfer payment program need to notify the YMCA as soon as they learn of their impending move. Remember that there is a 30 day notification clause which requires you to give written notice 30 days prior to membership termination.

Program Registration Refund/Credit Policy

Pro-rated credit for any participant who is forced to miss class due to confirmed medical reasons will be applied.  There is no credit or transfer of any deposits for programs.  Full refund or credit will be made available if the YMCA cancels classes due to lack of enrollment.

Video Recorders, Cameras, Cell Phone Policy

Video recorders, cameras, cameras phones, or any other visual recording devices are not allowed within the YMCA without the express consent of the Executive Director. Anyone caught taking inappropriate pictures of another person without their permission and knowledge will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law by the YMCA of Lockport and may lead to the termination of their membership. Cell phones of any kind can not be used in the locker room area.

Valuables

THE YMCA IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR VALUABLES. Please leave them at home or check at the Front Desk.  For the safety and security of all members and participants we ask that you leave your cellphones & other electronic devices locked up in your car or check them at the Front Desk.  Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
