Fitness & Wellness Programs

Abs Only

Half hour of AB strengthening - challenging for all levels. 

 

Active Older Adults (AOA) Fitness

(For ages 50+) Join us for fun and exercise in the fitness center. Cardio work, strength training and stretching to improve your posture and flexibility.

 

Adult Member Only Open Basketball (ages 18 and over)

Monday, Wednesday & Friday from 12 Noon to 1:00 PM Member Only Open Basketball - come down with your friends or meet other basketball enthusiasts and enjoy some fun, fellowship and recreation. Pleae make sure you sign in at the Front Desk. 

 

Aerobics:  Cardio Fitness

This class begins with aerobic endurance work, followed by upper and lower body muscle-specific exercises, abdominal work and stretching.  This is a great workout for all fitness levels. 

 

Aerobics:  Cardio Kickboxing

This powerful workout will challenge your mind and body by focusing on perfecting punches and kicks.  The intense moves are developed to increase agility, coordination, balance and strength.  The invigorating 45-minute class will end with 10 minutes of abdominal exercises.  You will feel enpowered by this workout!

 

Aerobics:  Powerhouse

A safe, but intense workout utilizing the step, weights and resistance bands.  This class integrates 40 minutes of fat burning cardio with strength training, ending with core strength and stretch. 

 

Ballroom Dancing

Jim & Dottie Timkey lead this exciting dance class. Four week "Bachata" Session and more. Singles and couples are encouraged to attend. Youth must be 16 to attend alone. Youth 13-15 may attend with an adult. Wednesday at 6:30 PM. Check our Special Events Page for upcoming Ballroom Dances. 

 

Body Sculpting

Low impact - huge results!  Jeannie will take you through an intense sculpting workout with body bars, weights, balls and bands. 

 

Core Fitness

Matt C will lead you through an intense core workout using your body weight, balance and balls to strengthen and tone your core. 

 

Cycle Reebok

Indoor group cycling class. Riders of all fitness levels enjoy a challenging cardiovascular workout. Cycle Reebok is easy on your joints but intense aerobic training. Learn Spin-Ups, Accelerations, Surges and Breakaways by a motivated, certified, Reebok cycle instructor to increase your stamina and strength.

 

Fitness Center Indoor Triathlon

Start training now, join our ongoing competition throughout the month of March. You man compete individually or join your friends and compete as a team. Enjoy a little competition an make it part of your workout throughout the year. All participants receive a free T-shirt. Event components: 2,500 meter row, 4-mile bike, and 1 mile run.

 

March Madness

Spring into fitness at the Y. Workout at least 20 days during the month of March and with a $10.00 donation you can get a March Madness t-shirt.  Look for health and fitness tips throughout the month to be posted in the aerobics room, the fitness center and at pool side!  It's a great way to get ready for the active spring and summer months ahead and your donation helps our YMCA support campaign.  Sign up at the Frond Desk and let's get fit!

 

Men's League Basketball (ages 18 and over)

Recreational league for all mem ages 18 & up.  Teams must supply their own jerseys and sponsor fee of $275.  Games are played on Monday and Wednesday evenings. 

 

Personal Training

Get the results you want with a personal trainer. Sessions by appointment and for YMCA members only.

 

Racquetball League (ages 18 and over)

The YMCA houses both a fall and winter racquetball league for men and women. Players are divided up according to playing ability.  Games are played once a week, usually for 10 weeks.

 

Racquetball Tournament

The YMCA host winter racquetball tournament for men and women. Three divisions for players to choose from based on their ability and experience including singles and doubles events.

 

Y-10 Race Training

Prepare for February Y-10 Race with our very own Judy Sparks-Arlington.  Train with groups of runners Saturday mornings November, December and January.  Judy will share tips on how to run the race, training, food, clothing and goal setting. 

 

Volleyball League (ages 18 and over)

Bump, set spike!  From recreational player to competitive, this Y Co-Ed Adult Volleyball League has much to offer!  Matches played on Wednesday evenings.
